5th Convocation Ceremony of SBBS University

Sant Baba Bhag Singh University celebrated its 5th Annual Convocation Ceremony on December 18, 2024, marking a momentous occasion in the academic journey of 431 graduates, including 14 Ph.D. recipients. The ceremony was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Advocate Shri Avinash Rai Khanna (Ex-Parliamentary Member), Dr. Ishank Kumar Chabbewal, MLA (Jalandhar), and other eminent dignitaries, faculty, staff, and the graduates’ families.
The ceremony commenced with an impressive academic procession graced by Advocate Shri Avinash Rai Khanna, Chancellor Sant Baba Manmohan Singh Ji, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar, Secretary S. Hardaman Singh Minhas, and other prominent figures. The dignitaries, including Advocate Shri Avinash Rai Khanna and Dr. Chabbewal, lighted the ceremonial lamp to signify the beginning of the event.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar presented an overview of the university’s achievements, while highlighting the historical significance of convocations in the UK and USA. He urged the graduates to contribute to societal development with their newfound knowledge. Dr. Ishank Kumar Chabbewal congratulated the students and encouraged them to stay informed and embrace technological advancements for their personal and professional growth.
In his address, Advocate Shri Avinash Rai Khanna emphasised the true essence of education—applying knowledge to practical scenarios for the betterment of society. His inspiring words encouraged the graduates to seek personal success and make meaningful contributions to the nation.
The highlight of the ceremony was the conferral of degrees to the graduates. A total of 14 Ph.D. degrees, 62 postgraduate degrees, and 359 undergraduate degrees were awarded. Additionally, eight gold medalists were honored for their outstanding academic achievements, recognising their dedication and excellence in their respective fields of study.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Aneet Kumar, Registrar, who expressed gratitude to the guests, staff, students, and their families for their support in making the ceremony a grand success. The convocation ended with the administration of the graduates’ pledge and the rendition of the national anthem.
The 5th Annual Convocation of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University was a resounding success, celebrating the achievements of the graduating cohort, including the gold medalists, and reaffirming the university’s commitment to academic excellence and societal contribution.
